Manual Handling Of People Train The Trainer Course

This four-day training course is aimed at trainers who carry out manual handling of people training within the workplace. It is designed to allow trainers to gain the necessary skills, knowledge and confidence to deliver manual handing of people training courses.

There are two course options for this specialist health and social care Manual Handling of People Train the Trainer course.

Learners can choose to take this accredited Level 4 Train the Trainer Manual Handling of People training course as a standalone specialist train the trainer qualification. Or alternatively, for learners who do not currently hold a recognized teaching qualification, then this specialist Manual Handling of People Train the Trainer qualification can be studied alongside our nationally accredited Level 3 or Level 4 Award in Education and Training.

Manual Handling of People Training Course Description

This training course is a specialist Train the Trainer course which qualifies the delegate to teach a range of Manual Handling of People training courses to health and social care workers. This course covers the knowledge and learning outcomes of RQF (QCF) Safe Handling of People qualification.

Who is the Manual Handling of People Training Course Aimed at?

All trainers who have a responsibility (or wish) to teach manual handling training.

Manual Handling of People Training Course Content

The syllabus includes:

  • Know what is meant by the terms manual handling, risk and hazard
  • Understand the Manual Handling Regulations and their application in a workplace
  • Know the safe principles of moving and handling
  • Know how the spine and muscles can be damaged by poor moving and handling techniques
  • Understand the effects of perception on moving and handling
  • Compile a file of information relating to manual handling that is appropriate to the workplace
  • Understand relevant aspects of learning theory
  • Prepare for managing and delivering training sessions
  • Create a range learning resources
  • Reflect on own practice

Assessment and Award

The course assessment is aimed at ensuring staff have gained the necessary knowledge, skills and confidence to deliver subjects relating to manual handling. On successful completion candidates will be awarded with a Level 4 Train the Trainer in Manual Handling of People and a Level 3 or 4 Award in Education and Training.
