Our Nasogastric (NGT) Feeding and Care training course delivers the essential knowledge, and practical skills needed by healthcare professionals caring for those with enteral nutritional needs. 

The course encompasses a comprehensive syllabus ranging from theory to hands-on nasogastric tube training. All of our training courses are fully bespoke, with optional add-ons available depending on the individual needs of your organisation.

Our Nasogastric Feeding and Care training is an extended course covering a wide range of topics. It has been designed for those working in clinical settings, required to provide enteral nutritional care.  The course ensures delegates are competent in feeding and NG tube management. Separate courses are also available for both Nasogastric Tube Insertion Training and PEG Feeding Training.

Extensive nasogastric tube feeding training is essential in managing the safety of your patients. During the course, all mandatory content will be covered, including enteral nutrition, correct feed and medication administration, management and daily care. This ensures safe practice and compliance to care guidelines. Further content specific to your organisation can then be included if necessary. 

Delivered by expert healthcare educators, both our NG tube training and gastrostomy (PEG Tube) training provides healthcare workers with the clinical skill, ability and confidence to provide outstanding care and support for individuals with enteral nutritional needs.

  • Indications for the use of NG tubes, specifically relating to nutrition and feeding
  • Insertion of a blind bedside nasogastric fine bore tube
  • Change procedures
  • Potential complications of NG tubes
  • Care and management of a nasogastric fine bore tube
  • Enteral feed and medication administration
  • Troubleshooting Scenarios
  • Care planning and defensible record keeping and documentation
  • Practical simulation

Our nasogastric (NGT) tube training covers not only the practical processes of tube insertion but also the care and management of such devices. The training course is evidenced-based and intended to ensure service users receive the best possible care, and that organisations remain compliant to best practice.

On completion of our training course and self-study workbook, your staff will be able to:

WHO IS THE Nasogastric NG Tube Training COURSE AIMED AT?

Our Nasogastric Feeding and Care training course is designed for practicing healthcare professionals, looking after those with enteral nutritional needs. This course is not open to individuals. We operate on an organisational level providing bespoke training to employees based on the needs of your service users. This applies to organisations providing home care, care homes, hospitals and clinical-based settings.

FURTHER INFORMATION

If you choose us as your training provider, we will provide the necessary competency proformas required to ensure safe and evidenced-based clinical practice following completion of the Nasogastric (NGT) Feeding and Care training course. This will then allow the Registered Provider to ensure mandatory competency assessments are completed within the workplace by a nominated mentor/supervisor.
